About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois, Virginia, and (LCSW-C) Maryland and have over 25 years of clinical experience.

I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in my work with couples and individuals, a trauma informed approach taught by The Allender Center (Dan Allender) when engaging stories of abuse and harm, and incorporate interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB) to care for the whole person.

In 2008, I opened Emmaus Counseling and Consulting Services to offer gospel-centered therapy in VA. And in 2026, I relocated to IL and started Alice Kim Psychotherapy.

I am pursuing a Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) from Reformed Theological Seminary (Washington, D.C.), and lead Women's Bible Studies and serve as a Sunday Service Presider at my local church in Naperville, IL.

I find joy creating something, vintage shopping, watching sports with my family, and sharing personal reflections through writing and speaking.
